Burkay Doğan 1982 Ankara doğumlu. 2005 yılında Anadolu Üniversitesi İnşaat Mühendisliği bölümünden mezun oldu. ANFO fotoğrafçılık kulübünde fotoğrafçılığa başladı ve 2 adet karma sergide yer aldı. İlk kısa filmi ile 19. İstanbul Uluslararası Kısa Film Festivali’nde en iyi deneysel film ödülü kazandı. Ödül olarak Hollanda Büyükelçiliği’nin desteği ile kültür elçileri olarak Hollanda’ya giden sinemacılar arasında yer aldı. 2007’de Hamburg Film Festivali’ne katıldı. Filmin dünya dağıtım haklarını Londra menşeili Future Shorts şirketi satın aldı. Amerika’da Nine Nation Animation’da dünyanın 9 animasyonu arasına girdi. 2009’da Adana Altın Koza Film festivali’nde jüri özel ödülü kazandı. Sonraki yıllarda yılda en az 2 adet film üretmeye devam etti. Şu ana kadar 15 kısa film, 6 belgesel, 3 animasyon, 20 video üretti
Born in 1982 in Ankara. In 2005, he graduated from Anadolu University, Civil Engineering Department. In 2008, he started his master’s degree in cinema-television at Anadolu University. He made his first short film About Uğur Kaymazs’ in 2006. With this film, he won the best experimental film award at the 19th Istanbul International Short Film Festival. As a reward, he was among the filmmakers who went to the Netherlands as cultural ambassadors with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands. In 2006, he participated in the Istanbul Art Festival Counter Arts Workshop Turkey video art selection. He participated in the Hamburg Film Festival in 2007 with an Average 40 Matches. It was among the 9 animations in the world at Nine Nation Animation in the USA. In 2009, it won the special jury award for Mediterranean Films at Adana Golden Boll Film Festival. In 2009, he participated in 35 video exhibition in Strasbourg in the 35th Anniversary of Video. 2009 He took part in the video exhibition at Hafriyat. He has produced nearly 15 short films, 6 documentaries and 20 videos (videoart-videoactivism-videodocumentary) so far. He was the screenwriter, director, producer and editor of his films.
He worked as a technical office engineer and planner in Istanbul Kadıköy-Kartal Metro construction in 2008 and Ankara Keçiören metro project in 2012. In 2014, he founded his own graphic agency. He worked as a freelance videographer and graphic designer from 2017 until today. He received 3 short films, 1 animation and 2 script development support from the General Directorate of Cinema. He was entitled to 2 film production support from the EU Sivil Düşün Programme.
With his feature-length project Kör Nokta, he was selected as a finalist for the Projects Looking for a Producer Platform at the Antalya Film Forum within the scope of the 54th International Antalya Film Festival in 2017. He is currently working on short and feature-length projects.
